Meditation part 6: A Cup Filled with Gratitude

Updated: Apr 4

Two pink water lilies with lively yellow centers float on a pond surrounded by round green lily leaves. Water droplets are visible on the leaves, creating a fresh and serene look.

The openness that comes from meditating softens your habits, which makes you more receptive to the inner value you experience when you feel connected to your soul. The fulfillment that you experience as a result, answers your natural need and longing for your spiritual homecoming, to be at one with the loving radiance of what you essentially are. This quality, which is accessible to everyone, always and everywhere, makes you intensely grateful, and thus joyful.

In meditation, your willingness to be receptive to your innermost being, to your essence, to your soul, offers the pathway for your essence to descend as a blessing, to crystallize and manifest into your tangible, embodied existence. This is how the Essence, through your humanity, can share its blessings with the world. Then meditation is the herald of enlightenment, of the blessed sustenance of the loving light of peace. This enlightenment is a fitting enrichment for you and, out of your love for the world around you, a wondrous form of loving your fellow human beings and an expression of gratitude to its originator.

It is quite extraordinary that you, as a human being, have the deep reaching freedom to consciously and longingly allow the Essence to rise within you and become tangibly true, and meditation is best suited to guide this process. As a human being, you have the freedom to move toward or move away from the “crystalline-tender” pure values of your essence and its blessings, to say yes or say no to them, to live with these values or with other values, and to share these qualities with the world through your existence and your way of living.

Each time you listen to your inner voice, trust your inner guidance, and consciously feel that you are participating in this precious truth, you will find that it moves and touches you deeply. In those moments when it touches you in your loving heart, you will find yourself bowing down deeply out of respect and reverence for life and your existence, feeling gratitude for everything and wishing to radiate your being only towards it.

This also makes it immediately clear that the internalizing movements of meditation have everything to do with being receptive. Indeed, receiving and experiencing your inner value when you are receptive is so touching, that no more answers are needed and an organic softening and loving willingness remains. When you are touched in this way, it connects you to an inner stillness and an enveloping, fulfilling, value-bearing gratitude emerges around you. Open yourself to this enveloping and grateful energy and allow it to work though you into your inner being, because in this way the loving and all-encompassing Being wishes to be with you.
