Meditation part 4: A Loving Ode to Yourself

Updated: Apr 4

A breathtaking view of the sun's rays breaking through the clouds over misty mountain ranges at dawn. The sky is painted with shades of blue and orange, while the mountains create layered silhouettes in the foreground.

The truth, the true, the valuable, and the bountiful nature of life, that’s you, because your essential nature is love.

Meditation is an invitation to openly engage with 'being' as the spiritual basis of your existence. Meditation is therefore a respectful and loving ode to yourself and all of creation as it exists in the here and now. This also shows how great an impact meditation can have on the way you approach and experience life.

Living is experiencing, and every change affects your freedom and quality of life. Everything you experience is the result of you being human and having been given a body. Without you, it is not possible to experience your reality. You are here to be aware of what you are experiencing and to experience it in the light of your presence. So the body is a garden of your experiences and at its center is the gateway to you, to the YOU that experiences everything, and to its substance, your inner being, your soul.

Meditation arises from your respect for the reality you are experiencing and your longing to meet its depth and allow its healing influence. Meditation therefore invites you to allow all that you are to be there with respect, so that peace can arise naturally through the release of tension between possibly conflicting experiences within you. Making peace with what is and with what you are experiencing is the question that constantly arises during your meditation. Only peace can give you the emotional openness and freedom to deepen your connection with your innermost self, and the other inner dimensions that you wish to influence and heal.

Inner peace and the accompanying quality of non-violence give you that wondrous space in your meditation where your essence naturally emerges, like a rising sun. Your meditation will deepen even more if you are willing to be influenced by the radiance, warmth and power of this rising sun. You will then feel your longing to be guided by the light of this "magical other." The realization that your habit of paying attention to details only fragments your experience of wholeness gives you even more space to let everything be as it is, so that the supporting essence underneath or behind it, as a completely different dimension of existence, becomes even more fully perceptible to you.
