Living Silence: Being at Home in the Fullness of Being

Updated: Apr 4

A person stands on a grassy hilltop and watches a beautiful sunrise over a mountain range. The sky is clear and the sun sheds a warm, golden light over the clouds and landscape, creating a serene and picturesque scene.

Silence can only be experienced. It lives and testifies to a fullness within, to the full source of Being. A source that is not meant to goad you to escape life, for that would cause you to turn away from it in search of a dreamlike untouchability. The full source of Being is there for you to find your true foundation and recognize it as your home.

In form, then, life has not changed, but from the stability of being at home, from the affective security of being in your Self, you can respond to your reality in a completely different way and experience life and yourself differently. For while everything around you is changing, you are anchored in your essence.

As a result, you no longer confuse outer beauty or what you feel from within with your essential Self. Instead, you experience how the essential Self is the space underneath all change, where outer beauty and what you feel from within are experienced by YOU as that which touches you deeply. Beauty and what you feel are expressions of YOU, of what touches YOU, of the Soul that you are.

Naturally, the changing aspects of life and vitality always remain. We do not deny or diminish them, but through these changes that you will learn to see the light of your essence. Sometimes you will drift along with situations very close to you, and after a while you will come back to the experiencing essence that you essentially are. Life changes but you remain the receiving and experiencing essence, an essence that carries within it the fullness of all summers, of all creation. I invite you to continue to enjoy that essential fullness.

Silence is the natural consequence

when you allow everything that you are

to simply be.

Silence is your primordial nature.

Silence

sustains our whole life.

It grounds our presence,

envelops our sensitivity,

and makes our truth discernible.

Silence is everlasting.

Silence has always been there, waiting for you.

This is not the silence

that comes from the cessation of thoughts

or that has to be conquered,

but it is a loving silence

waiting to be accepted

so that you can be in a relationship with it,

be healed and nourished by it,

and be naturally stilled by it.

Inner silence

is like meditating

by a roaring river.

Everything from that river

is allowed to be there

because it is beautiful nature.

Therefore, it does not disturb

but rather enhances your connection

to the true, silent core

of your natural existence.
